Rubicon Experience

I was first introduced to the Rubicon Project at the Entretech Entrepreneurship Awards in downtown LA on March 6th. Frank’s presentation was the best out of the 9 finalists, he showed off the Rubicon Project’s fancy user-interface complete with amazing graphs and tables, but most impressive was his statement that the Rubicon Project provides an average lift in revenue of 30-300%, a value proposition that is hard to beat. When the Rubicon Project was announced the winner in the startup category, the Rubicon table erupted with clapping and cheers, this made an impression on me that this was a fun and supportive place to work with a great group of people.

I applied for a position and landed a role as an intern on the publisher team. With the publisher team, I support the tracking of publisher operations, assist with site setups for large publishers, and generate graphic reports. I also have the opportunity to help on the hiring front and will be able to dig into the technology by working with the engineering team.

I can attest to the close knit and fun culture. We have about 50 full time employees that are smart, dedicated, and like to have a good time. The office is the former set of 24 and garners a lot of enthusiasm and interest due to the layout and design that can best be described through pictures. The Rubicon Project strongly supports events within the tech industry. Most notable is the Rubicon Project’s Thursday’s In the Mix, which is held quarterly. One of my favorite aspects of working at the Rubicon Project is meeting tech influencers that I regularly follow, including Robert Scoble and Pete Cashmore when we provided the venue for SummerMash LA. Best of all, we celebrated smashing our Q2 expectations with box seats at a Dodger game. All in all, I can say this is the best place I have ever worked.

Just before I started, the Rubicon Project was serving about 20.5 billion ads and now, only 6 weeks later we are delivering 30+ billion ads across 1,240 certified websites and 220+ ad networks. While writing this post we blew past the 30 billion mark… w00t! The Rubicon Project is the fastest growing startup in LA. With this fast growth we are in need of A++ talent and offer an incredible opportunity to learn and grow (quickly).
Some highlights if you’re interested in working for the Rubicon Project:
